My headcanon for Clover the Clever
Something you’ve been waiting on for a while, sorry, here he is.

Clever Clover was orphaned at a young age, and adopted by one of the most prominent magicians of his time, Star Swirl (the bearded). He grew up as a minor magical prodigy, though his status as adopted from the streets didn’t help his reputation in the heritage obsessed society of the unicorns. His mentor eventually got him to work as the young Princess Platinum’s babysitter, and after the mysterious disappearance of her father, he became her right hand mare (so to speak) and did most of her work for her, as such, while he did most of the work, he couldn’t stop Princess Platinums bad decisions and was the one who killed the Windigoes when all hope was lost. After this, Celestia and Luna had descended to the mortal plane (before they were unable to leave the godly void) and Celestia, who was a young teenager, and as teenagers are want to do, she fell head over hooves in love with him. He returned the affection earnestly, and they spent the rest of his life together. Though Clover had realised from the start how their love would end, Celestia, as an immortal, never truly understood what would happen to him. She wasn’t stupid, she knew ponies grew old, but she had never considered those she loved would grow old and die as well. She found out she was pregnant while they were young, but soon Clover grew old, and their daughter grew up too, and she shut herself up to loving a mortal, ever again

God of Chaos and former dictator of Equestria and the worlds beyond, Discord was originally made out of clay, as a plaything for the young cosmic gods of millenniums gone by. He was brought to life and stayed with them untill one they left him behind, in the void of the gods. Eventually, he gained the powers to escape, his ability to create toys for the children grew to the ability to create anything. He escaped the void and found his childhood friends had forgotten him, and now saw him as a monster. Anyone who saw him ran or attempted to attack him. He found that all his childhood friends were grown up and had responsibilities, and two of his friends had had children, Celestia and Luna. He was angered by the world he found outside, and eventually decided to make the world his plaything, in hopes of finding a friend. He was still a child at heart, but one with little to no contact for over two thousand years, he had no idea of what he was doing, in terms of his actions causing pain. As such, his world was one of someone with no idea of how the world works, or how much pain he was causing others. Eventually, Celestia and Luna stood up to him, and sent him into stone. After being released, he had grown into a cruel person, understanding the pain he was causing due to centuries of listening to those he had tortured visiting his statue. He wanted them to suffer this time, but he still didn’t understand truly what being an adult meant, and he was still childish, but he was cruel. When Fluttershy showed him kindness, he realised what he was truly doing all the damage for. He wanted his friends back, but couldn’t accept that they were grown up and that he wasn’t their friend anymore.
